Draft — not yet reviewed
This document describes what the site and the platform actually do, in the structure the law requires, but it has not been through legal review and 7 items are still to be completed. Those are marked in place below. The page is served noindex until it is reviewed and signed off.
Contents
This is the legally required legal notice for the operator of this website. If you need to reach us about anything on it, the contact details below are the right ones.
1 Service provider
Still to be completed
Registered company name including legal form exactly as registered — for example "WattWisely GmbH", not "WattWisely". Then the full registered address: street and number, postal code, city, country. A P.O. box is not sufficient.
The operating address is in Leverkusen, Germany. Whether that is also the registered seat is one of the things below that has to be confirmed rather than assumed.
2 Represented by
Still to be completed
The name of each managing director (Geschäftsführer) or other authorised representative. For a GmbH this is required; for a sole trader, the trader's own full name.
3 Contact
Email and telephone are published on the contact page and are the same details required here. §5 DDG requires an email address plus a second means of rapid contact, which the telephone number satisfies.
Still to be completed
Confirm that the published telephone number is a business line that is actually answered. The number currently in config.json is a mobile number with a +92 country code, which sits oddly on a German company Impressum — if it is correct, it stays; if the business has a German landline, that is the number that belongs here.
4 Register entry
Still to be completed
Register type and number (Handelsregister HRB xxxxx) and the registering court (Registergericht). Copy these from the register extract. If the business is not registered — a sole trader, for instance — this section is omitted rather than filled with something approximate.
5 VAT identification number
Still to be completed
The VAT ID under §27a UStG (Umsatzsteuer-Identifikationsnummer, format DE followed by nine digits), if the business holds one. Omit the section entirely if it does not — do not write "applied for".
6 Responsible for content
Still to be completed
Name and address of the person responsible for editorial content under §18(2) MStV. This applies where a site carries journalistic or editorial content; a marketing site with no blog usually does not, but if a blog is ever added this becomes mandatory. Confirm whether it is needed today.
7 Dispute resolution
The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform, which used to be linked here as a matter of course, was shut down in July 2025. There is no longer an ODR link to publish.
Still to be completed
State whether the company is willing or obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle) under §36 VSBG. A statement either way is required of businesses that sell to consumers and have more than ten employees; a plain "we are not obliged and do not participate" is a valid answer where that is true.
8 Liability for content and links
We are responsible for our own content on these pages under the general laws. We are not obliged to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information, or to investigate circumstances that indicate unlawful activity — obligations to remove or block the use of information under the general laws remain unaffected, and any liability in that respect begins only from the point at which a specific infringement becomes known to us.
This site links to a small number of external websites over whose content we have no influence. The respective provider or operator of those pages is always responsible for their content. Those pages were checked for legal infringements at the time of linking, and no unlawful content was apparent. Permanent monitoring of linked pages is not reasonable without concrete evidence of an infringement; if we become aware of one, we will remove the link promptly.
9 Copyright
The content and works created by the site operator on these pages are subject to German copyright law. Reproduction, adaptation, distribution, and any kind of exploitation beyond the limits of copyright require our written consent. Downloads and copies of this site are permitted for private, non-commercial use.
Where content on this site was not created by the operator, third-party copyright is respected and such content is identified as third-party material. If you nonetheless notice a copyright infringement, please tell us and we will remove the content promptly.
Something here not clear?
If any of this affects a decision you are about to make, ask us rather than guessing. A question about your own data is answered as a data-protection request whichever address it arrives at.
